I absolutely believe that a plate of grilled tilapia carries with it a story. Right from fishing from the sea to garnishing and then to everybody's favorite part, the eating. 
The pleasing combination of aromas from the vegetables used and the smoky infusion from grilling the tilapia gives this meal a flavor that is pleasing to the tongue.

How Is Grilled Tilapia Prepared?
Grilled Tilapia is a simple meal made with fresh tilapia, everyday vegetables, and spices. The taste of the grilled tilapia may vary since different people use different marinades for it.
However, the seafood taste of the fresh tilapia is almost constant.

Equipment

  • Oven / Charcoal grill or Coal Pot

Ingredients
  

  • Cloves
  • Onion
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Dried Pepper
  • Fresh Tilapia

Instructions
 

  • Prepare your fresh fish and wash thoroughly.
  • In a blender, add in your cloves, onion, ginger, garlic, dried pepper and a small quantity of water
  • Blend and transfer onto the fish
  • Rub the blended mixture inside and all over the fish
  • Allow to marinate for 30 minutes or keep in the refrigerator to marinate overnight
  • Gill the tilapia on medium to low heat while you flip it on both sides occasionally to grill it thoroughly

Serving Suggestions of Grilled Tilapia

  • Serve your grilled tilapia with banku, shito, hot pepper and enjoy with tomatoes, bell peppers, carrots, and onions on the side. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the tilapia right before serving to add a bright, tangy flavor
  • Enjoy the meal with a cool drink, like palm wine or chilled fruit juice
  • Serve with rice and stew, and add some spicy fried plantains (kelewele) on the side
